Nameko (Pholiota nameko)


Nameko mushrooms are naturally gelatinous - which makes them particularly suitable for adding to stews and soups, which they will thicken. In some parts of the world they are regarded as one of the tastiest mushrooms, but here in the UK their popularity has never caught on because they are difficult to mass-produce and transport over long distances.
