Black PE bags for oyster growing (pack of 5)

These bags are a cheaper alternative for growing oyster mushrooms. You can pour boiling water directly into these bags when full of substrate without the bag melting (but take care that the bag is fully supported inside some kind of container, to avoid it spilling and an obvious scalding hazard!


The bags are sold in packs of 5. Size is approximate. Each bag may be filled with approximately 600grams of substrate (depending on density - eg chopped straw). After draining and mixing the spawn, the bags will need to have the bottom corners cut off to provide small drain holes to get rid of any excess liquid, and you will need to fold over and tape the top, and cut some 'X'-shaped holes here and there for the mushrooms to grow out of. Place the bag inside a waterproof box or a cardboard box lined with polythene for the colonisation phase. See our growing instructions for more information.
