Sealing Wax for Mushroom Dowels.

After hammering dowels into pre-drilled holes of log, use Dowel Wax to seal the exposed end of the dowel thus preventing ingress of contaminants.The hot wax will also sterilise the surface when it is applied.

Wax should also be used to seal any wounds or exposed wood where side-branches have been removed. Do not use wax to seal the ends of the innoculated log.

To use, melt wax in a small pot and apply using a small brush, foam applicator or large cotton bud. Take care when melting wax, which can be highly flammable.
